About The Position

The main mission of the Operations Supervisor is to manage and optimize the operational process ranging from taking orders, their preparation, and their delivery to the job site for customers while respecting health and safety rules. They are responsible for the proper management and development of ready-mix truck operators/drivers as well as the dispatching of orders to ensure maximum logistical and operational efficiency in a safe and positive environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in operations management and supply chain preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency with technological dispatch tools (GPS/Dispatch) and the ability to prepare financial files for CAPEX projects.
  • Natural leader recognized for communication skills, collaboration, and the temperament to manage strong personalities.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred field of study: logistics, civil engineering.
  • 5 years or more of experience in personnel supervision, ideally in the transport, construction, or concrete sector.
  • Asset: Geographical knowledge of Laval and the North Shore; basic knowledge in the field of concrete

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop the team of operators/drivers with a focus on operational and logistical performance while maintaining a positive and engaged work climate.
  • Optimize logistics by supervising order taking, distribution, and preparation to ensure optimal route planning and a high level of customer service.
  • Plan raw material orders and monitor inventories, taking into account upcoming orders and the supply chain.
  • Ensure clear and constant communication between customer needs, sales, quality department, maintenance, and operators/drivers.
  • Coordinate daily with the maintenance manager to plan mechanical maintenance without impacting customer commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with operational budgets and support management in setting up and carrying out investment projects (CAPEX) to modernize equipment.
  • Promote a health and safety culture among employees on the BMQ site and during job site deliveries.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with SAAQ standards (driving hours, PEP safety rounds) and the PEVL file.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
