Vanderlande is responsible for the Service & Maintenance of the Baggage Handling System at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). This role supervises a small group of diverse operational employees, including Control Room Operators, VSS Operators, Contractors, and/or Unjammers. The position requires ensuring the quality of operations executed on-site according to contract agreements, managing system issues with the maintenance/operation team and the customer, and conducting daily meetings with the client for status reporting. The Operations Supervisor will set up and maintain work schedules to ensure fulfillment of contract deliverables, assist the manager by overseeing and managing the maintenance and operations of the Baggage Handling System, and act as a VI representative for operational and safety meetings with the Airport, TSA, and airlines. This role involves working closely with VI personnel regarding site-related operational issues, setting priorities, distributing work, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring all operational activities are executed properly and on time in a large and complex environment. The supervisor will implement new procedures, take care of knowledge transfer, and initiate and implement process improvements to ensure continuous improvement of operational performance. They will generate daily operational reports, conduct analyses of the overall health of the baggage handling system, and ensure employees comply with company rules, standards, and key values. Additionally, the role involves assisting the O&M Manager and Operations Manager in formulating monthly contractual reports, acting as a Safety Advocate, managing the daily operation, leading and setting the direction of the team, and maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures.
