The Operations Supervisor oversees the daily activities of an operational unit, maintaining workflow, staffing, and scheduling to achieve targeted operational and financial results. This role ensures compliance with operational policies and procedures and resolves routine operational issues. The supervisor schedules and manages workers to ensure efficiency, determines labor hours needed, and manages the quantity of items to be received, stocked, picked, inventoried, cleaned, and/or shipped. The position requires working with strict demands and budgets to set production schedules, monitoring activity to ensure daily quotas are met, and keeping workers on task and informed of procedural changes. The supervisor must be able to get production back on schedule if it falls behind for any reason. This role involves designing detailed product quality checklists, scrutinizing items before packaging and shipping, and performing personal inspections to ensure orders are compliant and associates follow strict SWI’s/SLAs process steps. The supervisor will monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's) to assess productivity and cost management. This role also involves moving inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers, maintaining inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items, securing the warehouse, and supervising staff. Maintaining inventory includes conducting monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data. The role supports the implementation and adherence to Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives, assessing and analyzing current practices, and driving improvements. The supervisor partners and coordinates with management, peers, subordinates, and other internal departments to resolve issues and concerns, leads by example with positive reinforcement, and aims to make RK Logistics a World Class company. Maintaining good partnerships with customers by responding to their needs and requirements and providing a company focal point for customer visits are also key responsibilities. The supervisor communicates with upper management when issues arise and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
