About The Position

Adjusts die patterns (following established rules) as part of the set-up stage for the extruder operations. Follows work instructions, key point sheets and departmental standards and practices; and follows all safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully complete all required job training.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent
  • CRC Bronze or above
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions. Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Production Technician program completion
  • Experience with extruder equipment.
  • Should have knowledge of MS Excel software.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs extruder set-up operations by utilizing techniques established through on-the-job training, work instructions, key points sheets and standard departmental practices
  • Manipulates the extruder pattern by utilizing the technique and pattern criterion established through on-the-job training, work instructions, key point’s sheets and standard departmental practices.
  • Performs general visual inspections on all incoming tooling, utilizing a light table
  • Practices good die handling techniques per established departmental practices
  • Enters accurate and complete data into the company’s information systems
  • Lubricates the equipment and/or material
  • Promotes safety, quality, efficiency and productivity in the department
  • Participates in safety and work related training, as required
  • Works safely by avoiding forklifts; staying clear of forklift doors; using personnel doors when entering or exiting the buildings; and safely using overhead hoists
  • Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Global 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities, including scheduled end of shift duties
  • Follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including the disposal of waste and used materials
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
