About The Position

The Operations Supervisor helps create a smooth-running environment for location employees, managers, and drivers. The role monitors driver and dispatcher performance, supports employees as needed, and helps ensure transportation operations are safe and dependable. The position is mostly office-based, with some time spent standing or walking in service areas. Little or no travel is required, although meeting local customers may be necessary. English proficiency is required for job-related communications.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• CDL Class B or above required, or the ability to obtain a CDL within six months of employment.
• Two to three years of driving experience required.
• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to communicate verbally with passengers, drivers, dispatchers, and road supervisors, including effectively using a two-way radio and PA system.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• English proficiency for job-related communications.

Nice To Haves

• Further education preferred but not required.
• Two to four years of transit or related experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, coach, and train drivers and dispatchers.
• Track trip performance measures, including route start times, performance, and incidents.
• Ensure drivers perform assigned duties correctly and safely and meet job-related specifications.
• Prepare operational reports and schedules.
• Maintain accurate daily operations records.
• Dispatch as needed.
• Reconcile deposits from the previous day.
• Respond to customer comments.
• Conduct road checks, routing, training, payroll, and other administrative tasks as required.
• Assist with driver hiring in accordance with company standards.
