About The Position

The Operations Supervisor helps create a smooth-running environment for location employees, managers, and drivers. The role monitors driver and dispatcher performance and supports employees as needed. It is mostly office-based, with periods of standing and walking in the service area. Little or no travel is required, though meetings with local customers may be necessary. English proficiency is required for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• CDL Class B or above required, or ability to obtain a CDL within six months of employment.
• Two to three years of driving experience required.
• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to communicate verbally with passengers, drivers, dispatchers, and road supervisors, including effective use of a two-way radio and PA system.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• English proficiency for job-related communications.

Nice To Haves

• Further education is preferred but not required.
• Two to four years of transit or related experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, coach, and train drivers and dispatchers.
• Track trip performance measures, including on-time route starts, performance, and incidents.
• Ensure drivers perform assigned duties correctly and safely and meet job-related specifications.
• Prepare operational reports and schedules, and maintain accurate daily operations records.
• Dispatch as needed.
• Reconcile deposits from the previous day.
• Respond to customer comments.
• Perform road checks, routing, training, payroll, and other administrative tasks as required.
• Assist with driver hiring in accordance with company standards.
