About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading production employees engaged in the manufacturing of Magnetics and Electro-Mechanical products. This position reports to the Operations Manager, and is accountable for achieving quality, cost, and on-time delivery objectives for assigned programs. The role includes supervising employee performance, providing coaching and development, administering corrective action when necessary, and coordinating daily production activities to meet contract milestones. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Planning, Program Management, Procurement, and Manufacturing Engineering to support efficient and compliant production operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in supervision, operations leadership, or manufacturing team management.
  • Working knowledge of basic management practices, including scheduling, prioritization, coaching, and process execution.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies, including 5S and Gemba boards/walks.
  • Experience supervising personnel performing winding, assembly, and soldering operations to high-quality commercial standards.
  • Familiarity with industry workmanship standards, including ANSI/J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and wiring drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce company rules, policies, and procedures effectively and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate employees to achieve team and business objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment focused on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with team members regarding program requirements, production priorities, workload, assignments, and performance expectations.
  • Drive improvements in efficiency and assembly throughput while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor and report production and material issues affecting assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Report regularly to Operations Manager on production/material issues and problems affecting his/her area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for instructing and training manufacturing leads and employees in proper manufacturing practices and procedures to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
  • Supervise direct reports, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Train and guide manufacturing leads and employees on proper manufacturing practices and procedures to ensure consistent quality and output.
  • Partner with Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure schedules, processes, and procedures are effectively executed.
  • Develop and maintain direct labor estimates for products within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and implement tools and required for production.
  • Attend regular operational meetings and provide status updates, risks, and issue escalation for products under direct responsibility.
  • Supervise personnel in a professional, respectful, and non-confrontational manner while maintaining high performance expectations.
  • Support extended working hours during the week, as well as Fridays and Saturdays, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
