About The Position

The Operations Supervisor completes all duties of Paramedic, in addition to specific leadership expectations. This role reports directly to the VP of Operations and is responsible for communication between operations supervisors, leadership staff, and multiple shifts. The Paramedic provides patient care in both emergency and non-emergency environments and ensures compliance with all State EMS rules and regulations, as well as company policies, medical director protocols, and standing orders. Employees in this position are subject to a six-month introductory probationary period and the role is Hourly/Non-Exempt.

Requirements

  • Minimum EMT-P (Paramedic) Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS or equivalent certification (within 6 months of hire date)
  • Current State Driver’s License
  • Positive Driving/Safety Record
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services.
  • Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret local maps.
  • Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, EMS operations and other customer service issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent our EMS and other team members as an EMS professional.
  • Must maintain composure, sound judgment, and professional leadership presence in emergent and non-emergent situations.
  • A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record are required.
  • The employee must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including ambulances, in compliance with all State and company regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Daily Deployment Readiness Form
  • Report Discrepancies
  • Complete Loop closure reports and system management
  • IT Equipment Management
  • Check Crews Queues Daily on Web PCR
  • Daily Activities Report
  • Daily walk through to address needs of dispatch and maintenance
  • Check paperwork for errors at the end of crew shifts
  • Submit trouble tickets as needed
  • Filling Schedules/Trucks
  • Truck audits for ALS/BLS and enough trucks available
  • Handle crisis emails and respond to email
  • Returned paperwork issues
  • Timeliness accountability
  • Come in-service, daily
  • Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the EMS communications center as directed.
  • Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the company medical director protocols.
  • Ensures ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily. Any deficiencies should be reported immediately to the VP of Operations.
  • Prepares and completes appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, daily, weekly, and monthly unit check offs.
  • Ensures unit and crew members adhere to our EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives, and standards. Reports any deficiencies to the VP of Operations.
  • Ensures vehicle placed in-service comply with required laws, rules license, and regulations as outlined by the State and other authorized agencies.
  • Prompt and regular attendance at work and mandatory meetings.
  • Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on duty.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform either on or off duty.
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision and direction.
  • Staffing open ambulance shifts as needed to assure minimum deployment requirements.
