About The Position

SEI Private Trust Company (SPTC), a wholly owned subsidiary of SEI Investments and provider of outsourcing solutions to financial institutions, supports the systems and production requirements for clients operating in a back-office environment. SEI Private Trust Company has a Specialist opening within the Special Activities Group. The Special Activities Group is a leveraged team providing back office operations processing on both Trust3000 and the SEI Wealth Platform for activities such as; foreign trade & options settlement, securities lending, alternative fund processing, physical certificate processing, derivative processing and pooled fund processing. The team structure addresses services such as: Global Settlements, Option Settlements, Securities Lending, Derivative/Collateral Processing and TBA Pair-Off Settlements in addition to a few other types of Alternative Asset Processing. These services require special attention and knowledge. The selected individual should be detail oriented, efficient, timely, and able to handle multiple situations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, industry, process, and trouble-shooting support to a team of operation analysts within their own unit/discipline.
  • Responsible for the completion of daily processing activities.
  • Performs project management and coordination, and execution for the assigned operational competency.
  • Execution within defined parameters, with some expansion, based on developing capabilities and experiences, in partnership with more experienced staff.
  • Occasionally representing the department at a broader level.
  • Guided supervision on a daily basis.
  • Independent judgment and decision making within the functional area of expertise.
  • Train and mentor senior analysts as needed.
  • Act as the escalation point to analysts.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the team. Resolve day to day issues or answer questions that come from team and internal and external business partners. Assist the Supervisor to coach and develop staff for Mutual Fund Operations. Provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. This person will be responsible for hiring, evaluating and counseling the team.
  • Responds to elevated client issues and makes decisions according to industry and regulatory policies and procedures. Identifies root causes and offers solutions to resolve the immediate problem as well as avoid future situations. Notifies internal partners or clients as needed based on the extent and scope of the problem. Understands and utilizes applicable resources and builds a network of contacts within SEI for assistance in handling client situations.
  • Monitors and audits functions performed by the team and controls for completion of account approvals, new accounts, maintenance requests, transfers, change of ownership and other functions. Assist the Supervisor in overseeing performance of daily Mutual Fund Operations functions and report generation of daily, weekly and monthly activities.
  • Proactively identifies trends and makes suggestions to improve operational effectiveness and the client experience. Sets measurable goals and examines ways to raise standards, improve quality, and improve overall performance of the department. Prepares and delivers ad hoc reporting, presentations, and training programs as needed.
  • Cultivate new and enhances existing relationships with Mutual Fund Operations internal and external business partners and clients. Keeps abreast of changing landscape within SPTC and in the industry to include functional thought leadership, industry best practices, and changes to organizational structure. Responds accordingly to changes in the business environment by proposing and implementing innovative solutions to keep pace with an evolving business climate and improve operational efficiency. Acts as a change agent; demonstrates active support for department initiatives.
  • Adheres to and possesses a strong understanding of SEI policies, Code of Ethics, departmental and processing procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
