They are seeking an Operations Shift Leader for Nutek Disposables in McElhattan, PA. This role is responsible for leading production team members and managing company assets to ensure safe and efficient production of high-quality products. Requirements

  • Minimum of one to two years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Advanced knowledge of all processes and equipment
  • Standard knowledge of forklift operation

Responsibilities

  • Follow and ensure accountability for all safety rules and policies, driving a culture of personal responsibility and safety.
  • Follow and ensure accountability for all necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
  • Monitor workflow and coordinate production with appropriate departments.
  • Plan production schedules to ensure maximum utilization of equipment and team members.
  • Participate in Daily Operations Meetings (DOM).
  • Ensure proper communications and plans to shift support and crews.
  • Verify communication of process changes and quality procedure/specification changes.
  • Submit work requests to correct issues that can be resolved by Support Teams.
  • Demonstrate and verify 100% compliance of safety best practices with team members (PPE, LOTO, cleaning, no jewelry, loose fitting clothing, etc.).
  • Assure personal participation and team verification for 100% compliance of monthly safety committee meetings, quarterly safety observations, safety training in the LMS, safety audits, and crew emergency response meetings.
  • Ensure safety incident reporting and related follow-up action items are completed as needed.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor all direct team members and indirect support teams to achieve goals and successful execution of the production plan on the shift.
  • Help select and develop great teams.
  • Coach, listen, and engage in direct dialogue with team members.
  • Empower others and model accountability.
  • Build trusting and caring relationships with all team members.
  • Lead cross-company teamwork and collaboration.
  • Drive execution on completion of tasks.
  • Show presence and participation, when possible, in the event a line goes down or equipment fails.
  • Complete on-time, well-written reviews.
  • Provide continuous feedback to team members.
  • Partner with Production Manager and Technical Trainer to schedule and support skills training and individual development of team members.
  • Evaluate/verify technical skills of team members to identify skill gaps and training needs, offering guidance and coaching.
  • Inspire others and be optimistic about the future.
  • Think critically and act strategically.
  • Evaluate team member work assignments and optimize where necessary.
  • Champion change to grow the business.
  • Verify all production specifications and packaging requirements.
  • Manage events per protocols.
  • Lead a robust asset management and housekeeping program, ensuring necessary cleaning best practices are planned and completed.
  • Follow escalation plans to prevent poor performance/high scrap and verify support teams are being contacted and flow of escalation plan with support teams.
  • Utilize and maintain Outlook calendar to organize individual’s schedule, meetings, and events.
  • Achieve > 90% completion of standard work tasks.
  • Complete production orders and efficiency reports for machine lines.
  • Audit changeovers for line clearance completion verification.
  • Provide support for MES and SAP.
  • Provide support for print codes.
