About The Position

Creature Comforts is looking to hire a Full Time Operations/Practice Manager. This leadership role requires a passion for working with animals, a drive for success, and enjoyment in coaching and building a winning team while meeting and exceeding business metrics. The ideal candidate should not be deterred by doggy hair or drool. The Operations/Practice Manager will lead the team and operate a large volume pet care facility, reporting directly to the General Manager and Owner. This role is accountable for all day-to-day operations, client satisfaction, staff management, fiscal accountability, and ensuring adherence to all processes and systems. The PM/OM is the primary point of contact for operations and is responsible for meeting established customer service standards for both internal and external customers. Creature Comforts is a multi-location, high-volume facility offering Grooming, Boarding, Training, and communal playtime. The business seeks a strong PM with solid experience and the ability to run the operation independently. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled manager who enjoys business building, program implementation, staff development, and creating exceptional customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 2-year degree (4-year preferred) in Business/Accounting or Zoological/Animal Science.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Manager or Operations Manager position, managing at least a group of 5 people.
  • Strong track record of successful staff management, including hiring, firing, training, and support.
  • Strong track record of customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must have open availability morning, afternoon, and evenings.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for 8+ hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able and willing to walk dogs that are 90+ pounds or two dogs at the same time.

Nice To Haves

  • Pet care facility experience highly preferred, but not required if other skill sets are exceptionally well-suited.

Responsibilities

  • Employee hiring, firing, coaching, performance monitoring, and team building.
  • Scheduling and assuring proper staff coverage with fiscal consideration to payroll cost.
  • Overseeing all facility operations including boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and add-on services.
  • Ensuring the safety of dogs, staff, and clients.
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding established, high-quality customer service standards.
  • Handling customer complaints to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Addressing maintenance needs.
  • Monitoring supply inventories.
  • Assisting in day-to-day accounting functions, primarily client account review.
  • Generating payroll reports and processing payroll.
  • Reconciliation of daily deposits and software.
  • Participating in direct animal care when needed, including administering medication, feeding, occasional dog walking, and cleaning tasks (dishes, animal rooms, runs, kitchens).
