About The Position

The contractor employee will provide operational research analytic expertise for the Operational Consultation Support team and support the technical performance of USAFSAM studies and analysis portfolio. This role involves assisting in analyzing management problems, providing advice on the probable effects of alternative solutions, and employing scientific and analytical techniques to define, quantify, and recommend the feasibility of assigned projects, studies, or problems. The analyst will perform independent analysis leading to unique analytical research proposals and studies, recommending alternative courses of action to USAFSAM personnel. Key responsibilities include clearly defining problems through data collection, research, and investigation of objectives and relevant criteria, identifying additional questions, providing or critiquing essential elements of analysis, and suggesting analytical techniques. The role also requires providing expertise on the validity of assumptions and recommendation criteria, advising on new techniques and advancements to overcome aeromedical operational issues, providing research support to 711 HPW DHP researchers, and attending/supporting meetings with government and civilian organizations, academia, and subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Operations Research or related field.
  • Extensive coursework in mathematics, probability, statistics, or mathematical logic.
  • At least 5 years of experience in their field.
  • Expert knowledge in operations research and rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis.
  • Competence in the rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis.
  • Professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent English speaking ability.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, yet able to complete assigned tasks independently or with minimal guidance.
