A Day in the Life Are you ready to take the next step in your Medtronic career? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our team as an Operations Quality Director. In this critical role, you will lead operations quality, receiving inspection, and laboratory functions that support the production of batteries, capacitors, feedthroughs, connectors, and therapy delivery components at the Medtronic Energy and Components Center. In this role, you will develop and execute long-term strategies to reduce quality and compliance risk in manufacturing, while ensuring the organization remains aligned with MECC’s Quality Management System and regulatory expectations. This role also plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, developing talent, and fostering a culture rooted in the Medtronic Mindset, Put Patients First, and the Medtronic Performance System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Quality Engineering experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, OR Advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Quality Engineering experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing operations toward excellence in product quality, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Build a culture that puts patients first, reinforces accountability, and embeds quality into every part of the operation.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor managers, engineers, and quality professionals to strengthen capability and support career growth.
  • Create and implement training and development plans that build organizational depth and readiness for the future.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations are inspection-ready every day by maintaining rigorous quality standards and documentation practices.
  • Implement robust quality control processes and regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Global Operations & Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, and other functions to drive quality and enterprise operations objectives.
  • Oversee quality systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expertise in interpreting policies, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
  • Lead audit and inspection preparation, manage findings to closure, and share best practices across functions and sites.
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective action, and organizational learning to address complex quality issues.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, implementing sustainable solutions, and sharing lessons learned.
