About The Position

Third Way, a national think tank and advocacy organization, is seeking an Operations and Projects Intern to join their Business Operations Department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, forward-thinking organization promoting center-left ideas. The intern will primarily manage projects and assist with administrative, technical, and financial aspects under the guidance of the Senior Project Advisor. The internship aims to provide practical experience in project planning, execution, and monitoring, enhancing project management and organizational skills. The intern will learn to coordinate teams, manage timelines, utilize project management tools, and collaborate across departments to drive operational efficiency. The program is designed to offer a well-rounded experience in project and business operations.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Interest in and knowledge in a relevant field such as business administration, management, project management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Teamwork and Collaboration skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to learn from others and contribute to team goals.
  • Strong Time Management skills: Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, creating, and/or maintaining workflows to drive effectiveness on Monday.com
  • Supporting team leads on cross-departmental initiatives
  • Managing assigned project tasks through completion
  • Coordinating and communicating on interdepartmental tasks and processes
  • Ensuring quality and timely submission of all project deliverables and documentation
  • Managing and updating project progress on Monday.com
  • Handling email correspondence related to assigned projects and initiatives
  • Ensuring all technological and physical space setups are ready for any meetings, events, or presentations
  • Providing high-level customer service to all TW staff and visitors
  • Assisting in maintaining organization/tidiness of all common areas
  • Performing other job-related duties as requested for the BizOps Team
  • Conducting research on availability, managing scheduling invitations, and coordinating logistics for events
  • Helping set up and break down rooms for events
  • Tracking and documenting event logistics, attendance, and feedback
  • Sending out save-the-date and full invitation emails and coordinating meeting logistics
  • Assisting in coordinating logistics for upcoming Health & Wellness events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and promotional efforts
  • Tracking staff engagement and gathering feedback for program improvements
  • Conducting research on project management best practices and industry standards
  • Collaborating with Senior Project Advisor to assess current BizOps tracking methods and identify gaps or inefficiencies
  • Participating in restructuring project workflows and documentation
  • Assisting in developing standardized processes and templates
  • Auditing existing internal processes, identifying inefficiencies, and creating a Process Optimization Toolkit
  • Documenting current state workflows using flowcharts or visual diagrams
  • Identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies in processes
  • Benchmarking against best practices for project management or operations workflows
  • Developing actionable improvement recommendations
  • Creating SOPs, templates, or checklists to support new processes
  • Building a sample workflow in monday.com
  • Presenting findings and deliverables to the Business Operations team
  • Sharing reflections and lessons learned
