About The Position
Our client is a small, privately owned and growing metal plating manufacturer in Akron, OH. They're seeking a hands-on Operations & Production Manager to lead the Akron facility day-to-day — owning the shop floor, keeping jobs moving, holding the team accountable, and driving quality and delivery.
Requirements
- ~2–3+ years of hands-on plating/electroplating experience strongly preferred but not required.
- Strong manufacturing, machine operations, production, or operations management experience in a technical/process-driven environment also considered.
- LOCAL CANDIDATES HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
- Not able to consider C2C arrangements or third-party submissions.

Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day operations and lead the ~9-person team
- Manage six job-shop production lines and a rotating production mix
- Run a first-in/first-out workflow via production board and Excel; set priorities and keep jobs moving
- Manage staffing, workflow, throughput, quality, documentation, and on-time delivery
- Hold employees accountable for procedures and documentation
- Ensure quality expectations and customer specs are consistently met
- Troubleshoot production and process issues; coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance
- Partner with the Office Manager/quality-manufacturing function and leadership
- Maintain a safe, organized shop and drive continuous improvement
