Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on business, operations management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 years prior supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in a manufacturing role, a production planning role or a manufacturing support position, or equivalent experience in Production Planning/scheduling or Operations Management.
  • Demonstrated functional experience in the related discipline of operations planning, material management and Customer service.
  • Lean six sigma training. Green Belt certification or willingness to obtain such certification upon acceptance of role.
  • External training and/or internal seminars in leadership, safety, quality, problem solving techniques and other related materials management training.
  • Computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, ERP and Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • APICS and/or operations and supply chain certification preferred.
  • Experience in flexible packing industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all operations planning functions including raw materials, production scheduling, Inventory and shipping/receiving ensuring the plant meets all customers’ service expectations.
  • Interfaces with customer service and sales functions to prioritize demand and ensure lant capacity requirements will meet customer expectations
  • Monitors the scheduling of orders on assigned machines to ensure that we will mee the scheduled ship date to our customers. Communicates unexpected delays to Customer Service
  • Reviews the backlog on assigned machines frequently and works closely with Production to help balance the backlog Communicates daily with the Production Supervisors on the current and upcoming schedule required for assigned machines. Create and maintain priorities for jobs, work centers, and run times
  • Oversees maintenance of inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements while maintaining minimal carrying and transportation costs
  • Enters work orders into the schedule system/JDE
  • Monitors progress of key orders and identifies delays
  • Work with maintenance team for preventative maintenance planning
  • Responsible for all planning issues
