About The Position

Peninsula Leisure is seeking a passionate and driven Operations & PINES Leader to join our Operations Leadership Team and play a key role in delivering safe, exceptional experiences across our facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Duty Manager, Operations Coordinator or emerging aquatic leader looking to broaden their leadership capability through a diverse role combining venue leadership, team development, operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Operations & PINES Leader is a year-round leadership role, with responsibility for supporting broader Peninsula Leisure operations throughout the year and leading the successful delivery of Pines Forest Aquatic Centre (PINES) during the summer season. Outside of the PINES season, you will provide operational leadership at Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC), supporting frontline teams, staff development, training, compliance, safety initiatives and continuous improvement, while also undertaking regular Duty Manager shifts. During this period, the role also requires one day of weekend work. PINES is a much-loved community facility located in Frankston North, featuring a 50-metre pool, toddler pool, water slide and family recreation spaces. Managed by Peninsula Leisure on behalf of Frankston City Council, PINES is an award-winning seasonal aquatic facility, recognised as the 2025 ARV Seasonal Facility of the Year. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a highly regarded community facility, work alongside key community and council partners, and make a genuine impact on the experiences of our customers and team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in an aquatic operations leadership role, such as Duty Manager, Team Leader, Operations Coordinator or similar.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and inspire teams.
  • Knowledge of aquatic safety, supervision planning and the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO).
  • Experience with aquatic facility operations, including plant room operations and water quality requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional community outcomes.
  • Alignment with Peninsula Leisure’s values and a commitment to creating a positive team culture.

  • Current Pool Lifeguard qualifications
  • Current Provide First Aid qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching and developing a diverse team including Lifeguards, Customer Experience Officers, Café team members and Duty Managers.
  • Building a strong safety culture through effective training, supervision, compliance and performance support.
  • Leading the day-to-day operations of PINES during the summer season, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-presented facility.
  • Overseeing rostering, customer experience, facility presentation, bookings and operational requirements.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, risk management practices and the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO).
  • Supporting broader Peninsula Leisure operational priorities, including training, frontline leadership, continuous improvement and operational projects.
