About The Position

The Operations Optimization Analyst, OSC drives performance and continuous improvement of automated storage and picking operations across North America. The role optimizes High-Bay, Detail Pick, and Layer Pick solutions, standardizes inventory management strategies, and ensures systems remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with operational demands. The position also supports the development, testing, and implementation of AI-driven solutions. It uses data and operational expertise to improve performance, standardize processes, and support successful adoption across sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant industry experience, or at least 4 years of relevant industry experience without a degree.
  • Experience working with automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), high-bay warehouse environments, or other warehouse automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze High-Bay, Detail Pick, and Layer Pick system performance to identify operational constraints, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Evaluate storage utilization, inventory flow, replenishment activity, and picking behaviors to improve automated system performance and throughput.
  • Identify trends contributing to congestion, inventory reshuffling, suboptimal inventory placement, and reduced picking efficiency.
  • Work with site operations teams to investigate performance issues and implement data-driven solutions that improve inventory flow and overall high-bay health.
  • Partner with WMS and IT teams to establish standardized North American processes for putaway, allocation, and reshuffle profiles while accommodating justified site-specific requirements.
  • Analyze SKU velocity, inventory characteristics, storage utilization, order patterns, and operational demand to optimize system configurations and inventory strategies.
  • Develop performance metrics, monitoring tools, and analytical methods to proactively identify operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Detailed Work Instructions, and best practices to support consistent execution across sites.
  • Support automation and AI-related projects through requirements gathering, solution testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Evaluate current-state operations and define future-state requirements for AI-driven and automated solutions.
  • Design initial pick floor layouts using customer order data and wave planning strategies to optimize inventory placement and Layer Pick-to-Manual Pick floor allocation.
  • Develop and execute testing and validation plans, analyze results, provide recommendations, and support the transition of successful solutions into sustainable day-to-day operations.
