About The Position
Acme Freight is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. This role requires a strong leader capable of managing a team daily and fostering effective communication across all staff levels. The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, manage dispatch to ensure timely deliveries, and be prepared to handle on-the-road conflicts and crises effectively. While prior experience in the field is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and adjust the schedule of all delivery drivers throughout the week.
- Oversee fleet changes in the morning before delivery drivers arrive.
- Assign routes and prepare morning totes for each route and driver for daily operations.
- Determine when to drop or pick up routes based on logistics and available vehicles.
- Proficiently use Excel sheets.
- Switch routes at the warehouse and assign rescue blocks.
- Understand and enforce company policy and procedure, maintaining high standards among drivers.
- Monitor Cortex, Netradyne, and Mentor on a day-to-day basis.
- Coach drivers on best delivery practices and demonstrate field procedures if necessary.
- Be willing to pick up a route or rescue if needed.
- Manage a team of up to 40 people in the field and dispatch.
- Assist with operational changes to maximize team proficiency.
- Utilize strong soft skills and communicate effectively to ensure tasks are completed.
