About The Position

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Operations Team in Ontario. This position reports to the Regional Director and will develop, maintain, and execute a clear portfolio plan liaising with all support functions in the implementation of required actions. This individual will also implement strategic operational activities consistent with the plan across the portfolio to continuously improve sales and profitability. They will inspire and lead the franchise portfolio to grow and achieve their business objectives. Requirements

  • A high-energy, positive attitude with the ability to quickly develop trust and meaningful relationships
  • Degree or Diploma in Business
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing operations across multiple locations, ideally within a franchise or retail network
  • Skilled in analyzing financial results and performance metrics, and translating strategic concepts into actionable plans
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently and spend time ‘in the field’ rather than behind a desk
  • Ability to drive top-line sales and bottom-line profitability
  • Ability to develop and execute long-term plans that align with Franchisee success and corporate goals
  • Ability to implement new initiatives and drive adoption across network
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence others in order to affect change and drive constant improvement
  • A good tolerance for multi-tasking and managing competing priorities
  • Can work autonomously, take risks and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication, problem- solving and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and communicate key sales performance insights (SPT, loyalty, campaign sales etc), implement remedial actions for lower performers
  • Ensure new bakeries are opened on time and on budget. Coordinate resources for new bakery openings
  • Use insights from monthly MFS reviews to identify actionable feedback for franchisees on COGs, Wages and other controllable operating expenses
  • Implement plans to improve franchisee operating profit across portfolio
  • Complete regular product performance reviews (PSW, waste optimization) on targeted bakeries to identify and action opportunities
  • Review production schedules to ensure product time of day availability meets customer demand and high product quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with all group marketing initiatives and products as per the campaign calendar and campaign brief
  • Conduct Annual Business Review (ABR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) with portfolio franchisees
  • Support franchisee candidate training and onboarding
  • Develop and monitor franchisee people plans, ensuring training, succession plan actions are implemented
  • Drive timely resolution of significant bakery issues, engaging other stakeholders as required
