About The Position

A leading national commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its Atlanta team. This is a senior construction leadership role responsible for leading project execution, developing high-performing teams, managing operational risk, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, successfully, and in accordance with client expectations. The Operations Manager will provide leadership across project management and field operations, helping establish project strategy, organizational structure, reporting expectations, and risk-management practices. This individual will also participate in project pursuits, procurement, estimating, and preconstruction activities while maintaining regular involvement with active projects. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced construction leader who has successfully delivered large, complex commercial projects and is ready to have a broader impact across people, projects, clients, and regional operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of construction industry experience.
  • Proven experience delivering large, complex construction projects.
  • Significant experience leading project teams and construction operations.
  • Experience with risk management and claim resolution.
  • Broad understanding of the commercial construction industry.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of comprehensive project execution plans and ensure implementation aligns with contractual requirements.
  • Partner with project leadership to establish project roles, responsibilities, reporting structures, and accountability.
  • Lead project risk-management strategy, including identifying, mitigating, and managing construction risk.
  • Support the implementation and interpretation of company safety programs.
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations for quality, schedule, budget, and overall execution.
  • Maintain appropriate project reporting and provide clear direction to project teams.
  • Participate in project pursuits, procurement strategies, and business development efforts.
  • Prepare and/or review bid schedules and General Conditions estimates.
  • Attend project meetings, project status reviews, and regularly walk active jobsites.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Project Management and Operations personnel.
  • Support resolution of significant project issues, risks, and claims.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, project partners, and local stakeholders.
  • Model the organization’s leadership principles and operating standards.
