About The Position

This position is responsible for driving and implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety, and to implement operational improvements. The role involves forecasting staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands. The Operations Manager will prepare, review, and analyze business reports to identify operational improvements. They will monitor and ensure compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures. This role includes supervising and managing associates and leaders, providing direction, monitoring performance, giving feedback, and identifying training and development needs. The Operations Manager will also teach, support, and model company policies and procedures, and participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders. A key aspect of the role is fostering a culture of belonging, where associates feel seen, supported, and connected, and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive and perform. The role emphasizes working collaboratively, building strong relationships, communicating with impact, and attracting and retaining top talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 1 year's experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas.
  • OR 1 year's experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • OR 3 years' experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
