About The Position

As Operations Manager, you carry considerable responsibility. You oversee 2nd shift operations, multiple team members and supporting departments all playing a vital role in producing the best, highest quality, and most reliable transmission in the industry. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all of our customers. Your day will be spent leading, monitoring and managing processes, procedures, employees, jobs, production goals, quality standards and inventory, suggesting and implementing improvements, coaching, and ensuring work is being completed in the most efficient manner. Support other areas when needed, be helpful and organized to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly. Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • 2 + years supervisory experience, site management experience preferred.
  • Computer literate, strong communication skills, ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities.
  • Must be 18 years old, high school diploma, detail oriented, past management experience a plus.
  • Willingness and understanding that you will get dirty at times and may have to work with chemicals.
  • Skill and ability of working with your hands, tools (must provide your own) and other instruments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times.
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starting and motivation; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage second shift operations and employees, direct and indirect reports.
  • Ensure production goals and quality standards are met daily.
  • Make sure employees are productive, at workstations on time, begin and end work when scheduled.
  • Mentor leads and supporting departments, advise of all inventory & production problems.
  • Sustain the ability of managing, coaching and communicating with all employees in a professional manner.
  • Take on and assign responsibilities, develop plans for improvement, execute them and lead by example.
  • Motivate employees, use critical thinking and common sense when managing & addressing issues.
  • Conduct productive meetings with employees, ensure inventory is being stocked correctly in assembly cells.
  • Learn, monitor and utilize computer systems, ensure units are being processed & leveled up correctly.
  • Maintain one piece workflow on the production line, make sure job and serial numbers do not get mixed up.
  • Verify & perform quality checks, ensure process & procedures are followed, keep an even flow on the lines.
  • Understand lean manufacturing, 5’s principles, maintain a team atmosphere, track daily production.
  • Monitor employees’ time punches, schedule vacations, write/perform reviews, hold employees accountable.
  • Be prepared for scheduled and impromptu meetings, train new personnel and work overtime when needed.
  • Follow directions from Sr. Director of Operations & Human Resources, be proactive and lead all departments on 2nd shift to success.
