About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. This includes managing staff, coordinating maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining the department's budget. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient and effective maintenance services for the district.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Understanding of safety regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Certifications in facility management (e.g., CFM, FMP).
  • Experience in a public sector or educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all district facilities and grounds.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations and building codes.
  • Develop and manage the department's annual budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments and school sites to address maintenance needs and projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements in facility maintenance.
