About The Position

BMP Doors USA is a high-speed doors company with locations in Waynesboro, PA, and Arlington Heights, IL. They design, manufacture, and distribute internal and external high-performance doors for commercial and industrial applications. BMP Doors is looking for an Operations Manager in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, to oversee their manufacturing, sales, and support of high-performance high-speed doors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Management or related field.
  • Contract Management Systems experience.
  • Development Software experience.
  • Inventory Software experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Project Management Software experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment (hands-on proven track record in metal fabrication).
  • Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Technically competent, quick study, and excellent communication/people skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to establish logical practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Using lean manufacturing, strive to exceed company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are monitored, and targets achieved.
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained and “Standard Operations” adhered to.
  • Ensure that non-conformance is challenged, and countermeasures are agreed and implemented.
  • Oversee support functions concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
  • Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build.
  • Promote Total Productive Maintenance procedures to further improve the availability of the line.
  • Work with maintenance technicians regarding plant or machinery breakdowns.
  • Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and ensuring compliance with procedures, operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support the resolution of customer concerns.
  • Identify and eliminate root causes using robust countermeasures.
  • Sustain corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, support dispatch time windows.
  • Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met.
  • Directly supervise 4 employees and indirectly 20+ within various departments.
  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is always maintained.
  • Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
  • Utilize interpersonal styles, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.
  • Sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving.
  • Communicate with the team by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost, delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.
  • Manage team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
  • Build effective relationships with work colleagues.
