About The Position

Burrow Global is seeking to hire an experienced Operations Manager for our Deer Park, TX location. Candidates for this position should have demonstrated experience in the EPC industry working on engineering projects in the midstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the commercial growth and sustainability of the business unit and work synergistically with other business unit leaders in the company to facilitate and encourage mutual growth. The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision and guidance to the engineering and design staff, ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, safe and reliable engineering via our designs, specifications and deliverables to our clients. The Operations Manager is responsible for engaging the staff with Burrow Global, driving training and community involvement therefore maintaining a positive morale and cultural aspect for the group. A successful design package of deliverables may include the calculations, drawings, construction and procurement specifications, and other related documentation necessary to meet the contractual requirements of a client’s mutually agreed upon scope of work, budget constraints, and quality and schedule requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience related to their discipline in a contract engineering environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Discipline or Project Manager leading teams with proven track record of success
  • Detail knowledge of Company Policy and Procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the commercial growth of the business unit.
  • Making customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships while meeting the company's needs.
  • Attend Strategic Account, Client Steering Team and OLT meetings
  • Attend and conduct sales presentations
  • Guide, coach and encourage staff towards mission, vision and values of Burrow Global.
  • Maintain positive attitude under both positive and negative circumstances, maintaining optimism and understanding human spirit and desire to improve.
  • Represent Burrow Global and our core values with staff, families, clients and community.
  • Report regularly to management key performance metrics: utilization, staffing plans, and quality
  • Ensure office culture is professional and appropriate and office space and floor plan is maintained
  • Ensure resources have positive interaction with clients and provide ongoing counseling
  • Generate and monitor annual budget
  • Review monthly financials and follow up on AR Aging, Unbilled
  • Review overhead time charges and overhead expenses (office supplies, equipment, electronics, moving, food, IT, furniture, moving, etc.)
  • Conduct weekly Level 1 operations meetings and follow up
  • Review and follow up on ongoing project status, reviews and act as project manager on certain projects
  • Responsible to ensure the quality work processes are being performed by the discipline leads on each job via Technical standards and project guidelines
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality work processes are being performed by the Project Management Team, reporting, forecast to complete, change management, DQV and more according to QMS and audited as per QMS.
  • Ensure PM training sessions are conducted
  • Ensure monthly safety meetings are conducted and follow up on safety quiz completion
  • Ensure that an Emergency Action Plan and Emergency Response Team are in place
  • Review and approve organizational chart accuracy and updates
  • Coordinate department manpower and assignment of project managers, discipline engineers, designers, and drafter to projects.
  • Support and facilitate work sharing of personnel resources with other offices
  • Review and follow up on KDCI’s
  • Review and approve proposals and cost estimates.
  • Review and follow up on Proposal Log
  • Quality Assurance overestimates to complete projects.
  • LOA for Change Order Approvals.
  • Vet candidate resumes for new hires and participates in interviewing process
  • LOA for onboarding of new employees.
  • Perform administrative functions such as performance evaluations, approving rate increases and complete required paperwork
  • Set technical goals and training plans for the department.
  • Prepare retention plan for key employees and implement when needed
  • Review, approve and participate in employee counseling and termination
  • Determine what type of Technical Standards and Procedures are to be created and maintained.
  • Monitor, track and report to operations to state of the quality of all packages going out
  • Use of technical tools to assist discipline leads in staying on budget should be used by the Operations Manager.
  • Responsibility for implementation of Project Management Procedures and Practices and continued training.
  • Look at Cost Reports to determine how current actual discipline rates compare to budgeted rates.
