Operations Manager (Operations Manager II)
About The Position
The Operations Manager II at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouses and implementing processes to optimize warehouse operations. The role leads and develops a diverse team of Supervisors and indirect reports, fosters a safe, productive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment, and contributes to the success of DHL Supply Chain’s contract logistics operations. The position develops efficient workflows and labor plans, standardizes processes, and introduces best practices to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. It monitors compliance with health and safety regulations, reports on key performance indicators, and drives continuous improvement. The Operations Manager partners with Human Resources and site leadership on hiring Supervisors, collaborates with cross-functional teams to fulfill customer orders, and works with customers to address concerns and support customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of logistics industry experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with P&L management, objective setting, and project management.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop Supervisors and indirect reports, building a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and labor plans, standardize processes, and introduce best practices to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Uphold compliance with health and safety regulations and foster safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Compile reports on key performance indicators, including productivity and accuracy metrics, to inform decisions and support continuous improvement.
- Promote open communication and collaboration among leadership and associates.
- Partner with Human Resources and site leadership on the hiring of Supervisors and provide input and recommendations on candidate selection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt and consistent fulfillment of customer orders.
- Partner with customers and proactively address concerns or issues to support exceptional customer satisfaction.
