About The Position

A role in Distribution and Receive Centers is critical for getting product to guests as fast as possible, impacting thousands of team members and guests worldwide through regional or upstream distribution centers, target.com fulfillment centers, or import warehouses. This involves Distribution Center Operations, Quality Management, and Distribution Center Productivity, focusing on process, problem-solving, and supporting people, process, and technology investments. An Operations Manager influences with a focus on safety, leadership, excellence, self-motivation, problem-solving, and teamwork. This role involves fostering a “safety first” culture, establishing oneself as an engaging and inclusive leader to maximize team productivity, growth, and development, and creating a positive work environment through real-time observation and constructive feedback. The manager will work with urgency to ensure operational plans are executed, performance and budget goals are achieved, and teams are informed and coordinated. There is autonomy to innovate with new approaches to process and method for efficiency and future process flow optimization, supported by an environment of calculated risk and testing. The role also involves a commitment to helping teams meet business goals.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to engage and motivate others
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including the mezzanine platforms
  • Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center, for example, ability to traverse conveyor crossovers
