About The Position

Reporting into the site's General Manager, the yard supervisor would be responsible for overseeing production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets are met. This role involves collaborating with the purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories. The Operations Manager will facilitate and authorize repairs or maintenance for production tools and equipment, and serve as a role model, supporting and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies and practices. This position ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures, and oversees production operations on assigned shifts. The role includes preparing work schedules for efficient operations, maintaining knowledge of processes and equipment, and ensuring products are identified, weighed, and warehoused correctly. The Operations Manager will operate and train employees on computer scale systems, forklifts, balers, and other processing equipment, and conduct monthly inventories. There may be a requirement to operate heavy equipment used in recycling, including sorters, crushers, and granulators. Responsibilities also include reviewing, correcting, and submitting employee timecards accurately and on time, submitting all payroll documents by the deadline, conducting timely and constructive performance evaluations, and coordinating with human resources to respond to employee concerns or complaints. The Operations Manager will coach, counsel, and discipline employees with HR assistance, and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Management experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, recycling, and metal industry preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and reading Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 – 10 years of experience preferred.
  • College degree in related field (Business / Management / Logistics) a plus.
