About The Position

This role is responsible for the onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. The Operations Manager will establish and maintain positive relationships with all front-line employees, spending the majority of the day in the field with them. Key responsibilities include ensuring new employees have the necessary tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties, meeting with them daily for consistent communication and support, and providing timely touchpoints. The role involves regular review of best practices to enhance daily performance, understanding and supporting frontline employee career goals, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and actively practicing and seeking feedback on coaching conversations. The Operations Manager will lead by example to ensure safety practices are paramount and teach the "WM Way." This includes conducting Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining, and documenting/maintaining records required by regulatory agencies like the Department of Transportation. Daily reviews and audits of route operations documentation (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets) are required, with follow-up as needed. The role also involves visiting customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Driver's License
  • Valid Driver's License Upon Hire

Responsibilities
