Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for equipment operation, building operation, ground maintenance, and related work. This role involves supervising custodial work (both contract and in-house), hiring and training Operations staff, and approving timecards for direct reports and temporary workers. The position also includes performing minor maintenance repairs on buildings and grounds, visually inspecting work, buildings, grounds, and equipment, and regularly monitoring building automation systems (HVAC and mechanical) for alarms and deficiencies. The Operations Manager will also regularly check and adjust pool chemicals, become CPO certified within 90 days of hire (course paid for by employer), and perform minor electrical installations and repairs. Utilizing a work order system to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests, establishing standards of operation for the department, and arranging/adjusting work schedules (including coverage for after-hour events) in conjunction with the maintenance manager are key responsibilities. The role is responsible for accurate completion of room, event, and rental setups, and ordering supplies for the building. Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary is required. The Operations Manager will also perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or Director of Maintenance.
