About The Position

S&S Activewear is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operations of our Fort Worth distribution center. This role is responsible for contributing to the development and tactical execution of Distribution Center (DC) strategic building objectives. The Operations Manager will drive all aspects of processes and operations, including planning, organizing, and overseeing receiving, inventory, and shipping functions to ensure a smooth and consistent operation while effectively satisfying customer needs. The role plans and directs DC activity to attain business objectives through effective leadership, cost reduction, productivity improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic compliance. All S&S Activewear employees must adhere to and enforce the guidelines presented in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in the management of a fast-paced Distribution Center operating environment, preferably same-day fulfillment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent comprehension, communication, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse and material handling equipment
  • Strong skills in planning, organizing, and controlling
  • Strong knowledge and proven track record of receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and shipping practices
  • Familiarity with or exposure to various distribution-related technology and automation, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Radio-Frequency (RF), and other computer-based systems
  • Comfortable working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic E-mail packages/utilities
  • Strong understanding of the importance of safety in the warehouse and ability to implement safety rules and procedures
  • Experience maintaining a cooperative environment
  • Strong customer service orientation and philosophy
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment (safety toe shoes, bump caps, and safety vest).

Responsibilities

  • Promote, develop, and maintain a work environment that promotes employee inclusion, recognition, and effective communication.
  • Maintain effective, positive employee relations in the facility to attract, retain, and motivate highly qualified employees.
  • Interpret company strategy and translate it into tactical plans and actions for the Distribution Center to execute and support those strategies.
  • Assign projects within the scope of responsibility.
  • Hire, train, appraise, and coach management-level team members.
  • Develop the facility's operating strategies to manage future growth, improve quality, and reduce operating costs.
  • Provide and promote a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including Federal, State, and local OSHA regulations.
  • Direct major facility changes upon approval from the corporate office.
  • Maintain an effective system for communicating relevant information to and from the corporate office.
  • Direct and develop the local professional management/leadership team.
  • Set, implement, and maintain local-based standards and measurement tools and processes.
  • Implement new technologies and systems as required.
  • Ensure high-demand, wholesale customer expectations are met or exceeded consistently by the Distribution Center.
  • Participate in various cross-functional and/or cross-facility process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain facility equipment, including upkeep and repairs.
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Enforce company rules and policies.
  • Encourage teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
  • Drive SOP compliance across warehouse functions.
  • Serve as a member of the Distribution team, providing assistance as needed.
