About The Position

At Youth4Youth, we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people across the UK. Youth4Youth is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as a first stepping stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues. We are seeking a sharp, proactive, and highly organised Operations Manager to keep the Y4Y engine running at peak efficiency. As a dynamic digital charity led by a part-time CEO, we need an operational lead who can untangle administrative bottlenecks, streamline cross-functional workflows, and keep our remote team of directors, volunteers, and DWP placement staff aligned and supported. If you thrive on turning operational chaos into structured systems, love digital tools, and want your work to directly transform young lives, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in operations, administrative management, or delivery coordination within a charity, SME, or fast-paced startup environment.
  • Highly confident using digital operations tools (CRM/ATS platforms like Teamtailor, global HR tools like Deel, project management and communication tools).
  • A self-starter who anticipates needs, solves problems independently, and works effectively without being micromanaged.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with deep respect for a culture powered by dedicated volunteers and early-career placement staff.
  • Fiercely passionate about youth empowerment, mental health, and breaking down barriers for disadvantaged young people.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day administrative functions, eliminating bottlenecks and freeing the executive team to focus on strategic growth and funding.
  • Refine and standardise operational workflows across our digital platforms (Teamtailor, Deel, communication portals, and team management tools).
  • Act as the operational connective tissue between directors, volunteer leads (Youth Services, IT, Volunteer Experience), and DWP placement staff.
  • Assist the CEO with Board of Trustees logistics, meeting preparation, governance compliance, and internal reporting.
  • Monitor key deliverables across current strategic roadmaps, ensuring milestone deadlines (such as portal rollouts and DWP cohort onboarding) are met.

Benefits

  • A competitive defined-contribution pension, with an employer contribution
  • Private healthcare, including dental, is provided by Westfield Health
  • Death in service benefit
  • Enhanced sickness benefits
  • Access to a wide range of discounts
