The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District provides comprehensive wastewater and storm water management services to residents and businesses in both St. Louis City and County. Requirements

  • Manage or assist in managing the daily operational activities of a major wastewater treatment plant or a number of smaller wastewater treatment plants; control quality of wastewater discharges and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Responsible for regulatory permit compliance and interaction with the regulatory agencies.
  • Directs, develops and motivates staff to meet objectives that assist in achieving the District’s strategic business plan; assist with the planning, staffing and organizing the operational activities and functions of a wastewater treatment plant.
  • Assign and supervise the work of personnel; help manage employee performance against operational and maintenance goals.
  • Work to maintain a safe work environment to assure compliance with the District’s Health & Safety programs.
  • Supervise planning and scheduling and developing a long range maintenance schedule.
  • Work with Engineering Department to plan and initiate projects to maintain, upgrade, and improve facilities; develop preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Work with consultants and contractors on design and construction projects.
  • Interact with public by addressing concerns and complaints; budget preparation and monitor budget throughout the fiscal year.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Assist in establishing and administering District policies.
  • Train and/or supervise training program for personnel.
  • Requisition parts and supplies and other material necessary for operations and maintenance.
