Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an operations manager or supervisor, preferably in the waste management or transportation industry
  • In-depth knowledge of waste management practices, regulations, and safety standards
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and other relevant computer applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of waste collection, disposal, and recycling teams
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
  • Manage and train staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize route planning and resource allocation
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, including service logs, maintenance schedules, and compliance reports
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe working environment
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition
