About The Position

Joko is hiring an Operations Manager, IT & Security to own the employee-facing IT and security foundation as the company grows. The role sits at the intersection of IT operations and security, and is responsible for turning existing initiatives into a secure-by-design, automated environment. The position will help scale identity management, device management, business tooling, and endpoint security, supporting Joko’s company-wide security priority and growth from approximately 120 employees toward 200+. The role will establish and manage identity and device infrastructure, strengthen security practices across employees’ working environments, and oversee day-to-day access management, security alerts, incidents, fleet processes, and first-line employee support. It includes selecting and deploying an identity provider, MDM, and endpoint security stack, automating access lifecycle workflows, reviewing business and AI tools, and defining Joko’s AI security policy. The successful candidate is a builder who automates repetitive work, has solid IT fundamentals, communicates security issues clearly across teams, and can establish rigorous, durable processes. The role offers ownership over a visible, company-wide priority and the opportunity to help shape secure adoption of AI tools and workflows.

Requirements

  • Approximately 4–7 years of experience in IT operations, security, or systems administration.
  • Solid IT fundamentals in identity management, device management, endpoint security, and enterprise SaaS tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and automate tools or workflows; evidence of building and automation is valued as much as prior IT and security experience.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to gather context from business teams and explain security considerations in plain language.
  • Rigor, autonomy, and an interest in building clear, durable processes.
  • Openness and eagerness to learn about emerging topics, particularly AI agents and their security.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an enterprise EDR or anti-malware solution.
  • Awareness of security frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
  • Hands-on experience deploying an Identity Provider such as Okta, Google Workspace, or Entra ID.
  • Hands-on experience deploying an MDM solution such as Jamf, Kandji, or Intune.

  • Set up and manage a company-wide Identity Provider, including SSO and SCIM-based access lifecycle management.
  • Own the password manager and ensure MFA is enabled wherever possible.
  • Connect company tools to the Identity Provider and build SSO, SCIM, and low-code workflow integrations to automate access provisioning and removal.
  • Deploy an MDM solution for centralized device fleet management, configuration, and compliance.
  • Review the company tooling catalogue, ensure employees have minimum necessary access, and keep security audits up to date.
  • Drive security best practices for employees’ working environments, including endpoint hardening, access management, training, and phishing simulations.
  • Conduct security reviews of new tools, including AI tools, and new uses of existing tools before rollout.
  • Define, maintain, and promote Joko’s AI security policy.
  • Manage access across company tools in collaboration with tool owners, including permissions, roles, access reviews, onboarding, offboarding, and external users.
  • Automate and improve currently manual access-management processes.
  • Monitor, triage, and handle alerts from identity, device, and endpoint security tools.
  • Act as first responder to working-environment security incidents, such as compromised accounts, lost devices, phishing, and malware alerts.
  • Build and maintain incident-response playbooks and conduct post-incident reviews.
  • Coordinate device onboarding and offboarding with the People team.
  • Provide first-line employee support for technical questions related to company tools.

Benefits
