About The Position

This role is for an Operations Manager I who will drive strategic goals across multiple areas within operations, including manufacturing, production control, product engineering, and inventory control. The individual will lead initiatives to improve technologies, resolve operational challenges, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role also involves developing plans, budgets, policies, and procedures for operational activities. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field of study.
  • 7+ years of operations management experience.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory management.
  • Basic understanding of and experience with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Experience with materials management systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience; the ability to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification such as Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understanding of Assembly, Integration, and Test practices.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage manufacturing operations, production control, and inventory control.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in collaboration with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for operational departments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and optimize material functions such as purchasing and shipping/receiving.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
