About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing outbound and inbound operations within a fulfillment center, ensuring efficient product handling, accurate order fulfillment, and timely shipping. The role involves managing a team of Area Managers, monitoring performance against key indicators, identifying process improvements, and ensuring quality control and compliance with company policies. Additionally, the Operations Manager is responsible for people development, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 2 years’ experience in supply chain operations or related field OR 4 years’ experience in supply chain operations or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees a team to ensure products are picked, packaged, and shipped to customers for delivery for a single shift.
  • Manages the sorting of products into customer-ordered amounts and ensures the accuracy of each order for a single shift.
  • Manages the preparation and loading process to ensure efficient distribution for a single shift.
  • Reviews and verifies outbound inventory reports from Area Managers and relays findings to a Senior Operations Manager.
  • Manages unloading, receiving, hauling, and stocking incoming inventory to avoid product backups for a single shift.
  • Reviews and verifies incoming inventory reports from Area Managers and relays relevant findings to a Senior Operations Manager.
  • Plans and manages budget to accommodate the needs of multiple areas within a single shift and achieve financial goals.
  • Monitors team performance and productivity for multiple areas within a shift to ensure goals are achieved against key performance indicators and standards; provides feedback to Area Managers.
  • Recommends staffing and workload levels to achieve performance goals for multiple areas within a shift.
  • Analyzes patterns and identifies opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity of multiple areas within a shift.
  • Understands and considers how Lean methodologies and tools can be applied to areas in the shift.
  • Assists in the development of operational policies and procedures and follows up to ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Collaborates with Area Operations Managers to ensure optimization of capacity and delivery management.
  • Supports and collaborates with other functions at Walmart (e.g., Human Resources, Maintenance, and ICQA) to achieve objectives.
  • Builds and leads a team to execute on business area objectives.
  • Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance.
  • Conducts performance and career development conversations.
  • Maintains team motivation and engagement.
  • Mentors Area Managers.
