Operations Manager: Cross-Border Mexico
About The Position
Circle Logistics is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and execute the strategy for their international footprint, specifically focusing on the U.S. and Mexico cross-border freight lanes. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of cross-border freight, a strong network of contacts in Mexico, and the ability to lead high-performing teams through the complexities of international trade. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and scaling a carrier network, identifying and closing new cross-border opportunities, leading a dedicated Business Unit, monitoring market trends, and managing international compliance and operations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of freight brokerage experience, with a heavy focus on Mexico Cross-Border operations.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Proven track record of building and scaling carrier networks and contract capacity.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, TMS/CRM systems, and advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Willingness to travel to Mexico.
- A "lead from the front" work ethic.
- Must bring a strong, active carrier following in Mexico and deep-rooted Mexico customer contacts.
- Relocation is required for candidates not currently local to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute a premier Mexico procurement strategy.
- Develop a high-performing core and contract carrier network in Mexico.
- Identify and close new cross-border opportunities.
- Support scalable solutions for large, complex enterprise accounts.
- Lead and scale a dedicated Business Unit (POD) of high-performing account managers.
- Drive a culture of accountability, grit, and a "partnership-first" mindset.
- Monitor market trends, currency fluctuations, and seasonality to adjust procurement strategy proactively.
- Track carrier KPIs (service, cost, reliability).
- Manage the day-to-day requirements of shipments, ensuring timely pick-up and delivery.
- Resolve complex transportation problems with urgency, professionalism, and bilingual finesse.
