Operations Management Associate

About The Position

AgState is seeking an Operations Management Associate to develop the knowledge and skills needed to lead grain and agronomy operations. The role provides selected candidates with tools, training, and opportunities to learn alongside experienced team members while serving cooperative members and agricultural producers. The associate will participate in AgState’s Operations Leadership program and other company-sponsored learning opportunities. The position emphasizes safety, customer service, team leadership, and operational development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent agricultural education or experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Learn operational management, including budgeting, expense management, inventory control, continuous improvement, capital project management, facility maintenance, contractor management, logistics, and managing the operations team to achieve business goals.
Develop operations leadership skills, including leading people and performance, hiring and retaining talent, promoting safety, and leading employee engagement.
Learn grain elevator operations, grain condition management, receiving and shipping procedures, sampling, and drying.
Develop skills in bulk fertilizer operations, dispatching, applicator operations, chemical warehousing, and agronomy accounting.
Collaborate with supervisors, location leaders, and department leaders to identify equipment and facility improvements that can increase operational efficiency.
Set performance goals and objectives with management and review progress toward achieving them.
Participate in AgState’s Operations Leadership program and other company-sponsored learning opportunities.
