About The Position

The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the operational performance of Sun Tribe's generation portfolio. This role requires hands-on technical skills in system monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs. This role reflects a developing technician who is building technical depth and the ability to work independently across standard O&M activities. The role is primarily field based, with approximately 90% travel to project sites and 10% office work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with commercial or utility-scale solar PV systems

  • Experience with the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Nextracker and/or ATI certification preferred
  • NABCEP Installation Professional and/or Technical Sales Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fosters positive working relationships with internal teams, asset owners, and site stakeholders
  • Communicates site issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Builds strong relationships with host facilities and off-taker representatives
  • Works under the supervision of senior technicians and electricians to perform O&M tasks
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and completes electronic reports
  • Responds to site outages and performs basic troubleshooting within required response times
  • Supports corrective repairs including component replacement and system adjustments
  • Documents all service visits through electronic maintenance logs and service reports
  • Assists with warranty equipment replacements and related documentation
  • Supports inventory management, including receiving and returning equipment
  • Utilizes monitoring platforms to review system performance, including periodic weekend monitoring
  • Follows and supports the organization’s safety culture
  • Logs safety observations and utilizes stop-work authority when necessary
  • Identifies jobsite hazards and escalates when work is outside scope or unsafe
  • Properly utilizes PPE in compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards
  • Builds technical knowledge across solar equipment and systems
  • Maintains required certifications and equipment operator licenses
