About The Position

The Operations & Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or institutional environments. This role requires a strong background in commercial low-voltage electrical work, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years of practical electrical experience, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Flexibility for on-call duties and emergency situations is also necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of practical electrical experience.
  • Strong commercial low-voltage electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional environments.
  • Proven troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation experience with low-voltage systems.
  • Background as a Commercial Electrician; residential or handyman experience is not sufficient.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work on-call or during emergencies, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician License or Card.
  • Valid low voltage electrical license or certification.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage electrical systems in accordance with building codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on low voltage electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot low voltage electrical system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct performance tests and adjustments on low voltage electrical systems to meet specified requirements.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and work performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and resolving issues professionally.
