About The Position

The Paper Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) position provides leadership and support to the Finished Products Business Unit at the Vicksburg Mill, a fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility. The role interacts with mill operations, maintenance, and management on a day-to-day basis. The OMC is the link between department production and maintenance units, working closely with operations, maintenance, technical, and management teams. Equipment in the area includes the paper machine, winder, fiber reclam, and all associated equipment with stock prep and the warehouse.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of experience in a fully integrated pulp and paper mill or a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experienced using a computer and skilled in word processing, spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel), Microsoft Project, SAP business systems, and other databases.
  • Ability to work safely and instill safety as a core value within the team.
  • Develop thorough working knowledge of department and mill operations processes, equipment and systems.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Paper Machine area experience including maintenance and First Line Leader (FLL) management experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the manufacturing workflow process in the area, including Manufacturing Work Systems (MWS), Outages, and Basic Care.
  • Facilitate all Manufacturing Work System (MWS) meetings (daily, planning, weekly scheduling, outage planning).
  • Own MWS metrics for the area and deliver Pacesetter quality performance or better.
  • Manage SAP-PM notification review, approval, prioritization, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate activities necessary to execute the maintenance daily schedule (e.g., lockouts, hot work permits, confined space permits) while considering the area’s maintenance budget.
  • Review and manage work backlogs.
  • Translate RCFA corrective actions into scheduled work.
  • Act as gatekeeper for all break-in work.
  • Set expectations for precision maintenance – Mechanical (MPM) and Instrumentation Electrical (IEPM).
  • Coordinate area’s field outages and annual outages.
  • Develop field day and annual outage bar chart schedules.
  • Champion and lead operator basic care for the area.
  • Modify and update basic care rounds.
  • Audit and track completion of basic care rounds.
  • Own basic care pacesetter audits.
  • Support Finished Products department safety goals.
  • Maintain the Lock-Out and Confined Space Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including annual and periodic reviews.
  • Clearly communicate with maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Support the Finished Products department as APM (Paper) relief and weekend duty coverage.
  • Utilize the MOC process.
  • Understand and promote Manufacturing Excellence (ME) tools and processes.
  • Support 5S programs.
