The Operations Lead will provide support to the leadership team and employees at the site, performing fill-in duties to assist the team in the production of aseptically packaged products in a safe, clean work environment. This role involves all functions relating to operating the production equipment used to manufacture food products. The position requires leadership and ownership of the department, job responsibilities, and job functions, serving as a source of technical knowledge and expertise for the production line. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of standard operating procedures, training employees, and project development. The Operations Lead will perform all jobs in the area as necessary to cover breaks, PTO, and training, and assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor in their absence. Key duties include monitoring and fixing faults, clearing material jams, conducting quality checks, maintaining a clean work area, troubleshooting and resolving operating difficulties, and performing routine and corrective maintenance on machines, while also supporting mechanics. Accurate preparation and maintenance of all area paperwork and proficiency with computers are essential. The role also involves performing quality and food safety checks, preparing and maintaining records, auditing processes, and working with management on organizational design. Effective communication regarding production delays or problems is crucial, along with strict adherence to safety, food safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Responsible for proper shift handoff and wearing required PPE.
