About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, highly motivated Operations Lead to support the production and commercialization of hydroponically grown crops within our indoor vertical farming facility. This role sits at the intersection of controlled-environment agriculture, food production, and operational execution—helping translate precision-growing systems into consistent, scalable, market-ready output. This is a floor-based leadership role working directly within production operations. The Operations Lead will work alongside a small, high-performing team to execute daily grow, harvest, and post-harvest activities while ensuring system discipline, crop quality, and production targets are consistently achieved. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced ag-tech environments and enjoys being close to both the plants and the production systems that bring them to market.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant science, horticulture, food systems, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in controlled-environment agriculture (vertical farming, hydroponics, greenhouse) food production, or high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution with informal leadership on the production floor
  • Hands-on experience working in operational, production, or cultivation environments where consistency, quality, and throughput matter
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to identify quality, process, or system deviations quickly and accurately
  • Comfort working in a highly structured, data-informed production environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in small, fast-moving teams
  • Willingness to work in a physically active, climate-controlled indoor farming environment
  • Interest in food systems, ag-tech innovation, and scaling sustainable agriculture

Responsibilities

  • Execute and support daily production activities within a hydroponic vertical farming system focused on flowering crop cultivation
  • Work directly on the production floor alongside team members across planting, maintenance, crop care, and harvest operations
  • Support the Operations Manager in coordinating daily workflows, labor allocation, and production priorities
  • Monitor plant health, crop development stages, and environmental consistency to ensure optimal growing conditions
  • Track and respond to key production metrics including yield, quality, uniformity, and harvest readiness
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, quality assurance, and operational SOPs in a controlled-environment system
  • Support system reliability through attention to detail in routine operational checks and escalation of deviations
  • Act as a floor lead in the absence of the Operations Manager, maintaining structure, pace, and execution standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield optimization, process efficiency, and waste reduction
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with cultivation, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless product flow from grow to market

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance starting day one
  • At least 2 weeks of paid vacation, plus a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick time
  • 10 paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
