About The Position

This is a paid Internship with an hourly rate of $20/hr. Duration: May 2027 – August 2027. Location: Based in our East Lansing, MI office, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the local community while being an integral part of our organization. Are you interested in business operations, project implementation, and continuous improvement? GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking an Operations Implementation Intern to help support strategic initiatives across the organization. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to assist with process improvements, system implementations, and operational projects while developing valuable analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Agriculture background or interest preferred.
  • Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Highlights responsibilities that may not currently be adequately represented in job descriptions or workload expectations.
  • Identifies the primary tasks performed by Loan Processors and CSRs and the average time associated with those tasks.
  • Identifies meaningful differences between branches, segments, and staffing models.
  • Compares operational workload and interruptions with loan-processing capacity.
  • Provides data that could help leadership evaluate staffing needs, workload expectations, performance metrics, and potential process improvements.
  • Includes a set of well-developed enhancement ideas based on employee feedback and analysis of operational needs.
  • Documents best practices and strategies for staying organized and thriving in Operations roles.
