About The Position

LatchBio is seeking a sharp, curious, high-agency Operations Generalist to join their team. LatchBio is at the forefront of biological discovery, building AI and data infrastructure to accelerate biopharma R&D. The company is experiencing rapid growth, with over 100 engineers and operators in San Francisco solving the data bottleneck in biology. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the COO and Chief of Staff on the company’s most important problems, providing a fast-paced learning environment in a high-growth company. This is not a support role; you will be entrusted with real problems and real stakes.

Requirements

0–3 years of experience; startup, consulting, banking, or other high-intensity backgrounds are a plus
Strong analytical skills; you’re dangerous in a spreadsheet
Excited about AI, biotech, or SaaS
Bias toward action and iteration over perfection
Genuinely enjoying this kind of work and bringing your personality to the team
Fast learner. You don’t need to know how to do something yet. Give you a week and you’ll know it better than most.
Gets things done. You finish what you start, follow up, and close loops without being chased.
Comfortable with ambiguity. Hand you a messy, half-defined problem and you’ll come back with structure and a plan.
Detail-oriented, with the bigger picture in mind. You sweat the small stuff because you understand how it connects to everything else.
Clear communicator. Concise in writing and in person, and equally at home with engineers, scientists, salespeople, and founders.
Low ego, high ownership. No task is beneath you, and no problem is too big to take a swing at.

Responsibilities

Figure out how we hire 60 engineers in 90 days, then help make it happen
Dig into our cloud bill and find six figures of savings
Build the financial model leadership uses to make hiring and spend decisions
Learn to redline a customer contract and keep deals moving
Stand up a system from scratch the first time we need it, whether that’s vendor management, compliance tracking, or office expansion
Drop into whatever is on fire this week and leave it better than you found it
