About The Position

The Operations Flex role at Lakeside Surfaces is designed for individuals who thrive on variety and enjoy learning new skills. This is not a traditional production position. As a cross-trained team member, you will support multiple departments including CNC, Polish, QC, Shipping, and Backsplash. The role requires adaptability, dependability, and a desire to contribute wherever help is needed in a fast-paced team environment. Flexibility is key, as the role involves covering absences, assisting during peak times, and adapting to changing departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Maintain a clean driving record to comply with Lakeside Surface’s Fleet Policy.
  • Maintain a valid chauffeur’s license and DOT Medical card.
  • Experience in construction or fabrication.
  • Experience using hand tools such as die grinders, angle grinders, levels, hand saws, etc.
  • Flexibility with start and end times of shifts.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks and positions in both Production and Field Services.
  • Ability to read measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Computer skills (we are a completely paperless fabrication company).
  • Ability to identify and distinguish between colors including shade variations.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs repeatedly for up to 8 hours.
  • Crane experience.
  • Fork lift experience.
  • Team player mentality – we will be asking this position to help in multiple areas.
  • MUST be able to work as a team to accomplish goals.
  • Must be able to lift 100lbs at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to be moving and on your feet for 8-10 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time (8-10 hours per shift).
  • Must be physical able to operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to grip both stone tops and tools to perform job duties.
  • Must be physically able to operate a fork lift.

Responsibilities

  • Support different areas of fabrication and field services when needed.
  • Abide by all company fleet policies and state and federal laws while operating company vehicles.
  • Ensure all cargo is fully secured anytime a vehicle is moved.
  • Accept direction from Lead Install team members in the field.
  • Ability to work in a controlled and organized jobsite.
  • Ability to navigate Moraware.
  • Must keep a calm, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Train and be proficient in multiple departments each week depending on company needs.
  • Conduct quality checks using measuring devices compared to CAD drawings.
  • Polish stone using a pneumatic polisher.
  • Load and unload stone tops from tables by hand and by crane.
  • Follow CAD drawings and details to produce product matching specifications in CAD drawings.
  • Stage and load jobs onto A-frames and carts for the Field Service teams.
  • Navigate internet-based program for activity completion and job information.
  • Cut stone pieces to proper dimensions using tile saw, bridge saw, and hand saws.
  • Operate multiple machinery including CNCs, in-line polishers, and bridge saws.
  • Load and unload CNC machines by hand and by crane.
