The Operations Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial performance through accurate cost accounting, operational analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve margin visibility, inventory management, and overall business efficiency. This position is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working at the intersection of finance and operations within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience (manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Cost accounting or inventory experience preferred
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • ERP experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers
  • Knowledge of GAAP inventory and cost accounting principles
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial teams
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA progression is a plus (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, bills of material, and routing structures
  • Monitor material, labor, and overhead variances and identify root causes
  • Support inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
  • Analyze inventory turns, excess/obsolete inventory, and working capital trends
  • Partner with operations to improve cost accuracy and manufacturing efficiency
  • Prepare margin analysis by product line, customer, and business unit
  • Support monthly close with cost accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to support operational decision-making
  • Provide ad-hoc financial modeling and scenario analysis
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Work directly with production, procurement, and engineering teams
  • Support quoting and pricing decisions with cost data
  • Help identify cost savings opportunities and efficiency improvements
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance leaders
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial and operational processes
  • Support ERP enhancements and data integrity initiatives
  • Assist with automation and reporting improvements
