About The Position

The Operations Engineering Support 2 role performs complex technical support work in a manufacturing environment, using judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. The position works under minimum supervision, may provide functional guidance to others, and may be considered an expert in assigned areas. It builds internal and external relationships by exchanging information and supporting problem solving. Responsibilities include analyzing schematics and related technical information; troubleshooting and repairing failed products and test equipment; inspecting product quality; isolating and replacing faulty components; and setting up, operating, adjusting, and validating test sets and auxiliary equipment. The role also performs reactive maintenance on electromechanical surface-mount assembly equipment and maintains equipment records, preventive maintenance schedules, and spare-parts inventory. With support and direction from more experienced electrical and mechanical engineers, the role conducts complex testing, debugging, failure analysis, circuit modification, and design verification for new and prototype products. It works from product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings to assemble, test, debug, repair, or modify prototypes. The position may also help move, install, set up, or refurbish equipment and perform special trade tasks.
